Children's football training differs fundamentally from adult training. The physical and mental development of children aged 6-12 is different โ€” therefore, the training methods must also be different.

Age Groups

6-8 years (Beginners): The main goal is to enjoy football. Games with the ball, simple coordination exercises, mini-games (3v3, 4v4). No tactical load whatsoever!

9-11 years (Development): Basics of technique โ€” receiving the ball, passing, dribbling. Small games (5v5, 7v7). Tactics begin, but at a simple level.

12-14 years (Formation): Individual technique is deepened. Tactical understanding develops. Beginning to choose positions. Transitioning to 11v11.

Rules of Children's Training

1. Enjoyment first: If a child doesn't enjoy football, they will quickly quit. Every training session should include game elements.

2. Every child plays: 'The best play, the others sit' โ€” this is the biggest mistake. EVERY child should play for an equal amount of time.

3. Result is not important: Until age 12, victory/defeat should be ignored. What matters is development and enjoyment.

4. Positive environment: Do not shout at the child, belittle them, or compare them with an opponent. Celebrate every small achievement.

5. Various positions: Until age 12, do not lock a child into one position โ€” they should play in all positions.

For Parents

The biggest problem is often the parents. They shout, oppose the referee, and interfere with the coach. This ruins the child's enjoyment. The parent's job is to inspire and support, nothing else.
