Welcome to Playmatch. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application designed for organizing football matches and sports activities.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a high-quality experience for match organization, we collect the following types of information:

• Personal Data: Name, email address, phone number, and profile picture provided during registration.
• Location Data: With your explicit consent, we access your device’s location to help you find nearby football pitches and matches.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, including device information (OS version, model) and log data.
• Media: Photos uploaded for your profile or match details.

2. Use of Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your user account.
• Facilitate match bookings and team formations.
• Send push notifications regarding match updates, invites, and reminders.
• Analyze app performance to improve user experience.
• Maintain a safe and respectful community for all players.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. Your information is shared only in the following contexts:

• Community Visibility: Your name and profile photo are visible to other users when you join or create a match.
• Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party services (e.g., Firebase for database management or Google Analytics) to ensure app stability.
• Legal Obligations: If required by law, we may disclose information to protect our rights or comply with judicial proceedings.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. To do so, please use the "Delete Account" option within the app settings or contact our support team.

5. Security

We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or disclosure. However, please be aware that no electronic transmission is 100% secure.

6. Permissions

Playmatch may request the following permissions:

• Location: For discovering local games.
• Notifications: For real-time match alerts.
• Storage/Camera: For uploading profile and match photos.

7. Health and Fitness Data

With your explicit consent, Playmatch reads the following data from your device's health app — Apple Health on iOS, Health Connect on Android: step count, distance travelled, heart rate and active energy burned.

Why we read it. This data is read only for the time window between the start and the end of a match you took part in, and is used to show you your own physical activity during that match.

Who can see it. By default this data is visible only to you. It is shown to other members of your group, including group admins, only if you turn on the sharing setting yourself. That setting is off by default and you can turn it off again at any time in the app's settings. When shared, only step count and distance are shown — heart rate is never shown to anyone else.

What we never do. Health and fitness data is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, is never sold, and is never disclosed to third parties. Daily and weekly personal step totals are calculated on your device only and are not sent to our servers.

Storage and deletion. Per-match health data is stored on our servers. Deleting your account deletes this data. Revoking the health permission in your device settings stops any further data from being read.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
