The nutrition regimen on game day directly affects a footballer's performance indicators. The main meal 3-4 hours before the game should consist of high carbohydrates (pasta, rice, bread), moderate protein (chicken, fish), and low fat. A light snack—banana, energy bar, or toast—1-2 hours before the game helps replenish glycogen stores in the body.

Hydration during the game is crucial—150-200 ml every 15-20 minutes. In hot weather, additional electrolyte drinks (sodium and potassium) are necessary. Energy gels or sports drinks are effective during the second half. When dehydration reaches 2%, performance indicators drop by 10-20%.

Recovery food—protein (20-30 grams) and carbohydrates (1 gram/kg of body weight)—should be consumed within 30 minutes after the game. Chocolate milk is recognized as one of the simplest and most effective recovery drinks. Local dishes are also suitable for Uzbek footballers: plov (carbs+protein), mastava (liquid+nutrition), and fruits (vitamins). The key is to correctly account for timing and quantity.
