Football boots are a player's most important piece of equipment. The wrong boots put excessive load on the knees, lead to slipping on the field, and lower the quality of play. Choosing the right boots is the best way to spend your investment.
Types of Boot Soles
FG (Firm Ground): For natural grass. Medium-length studs. The most common type.
AG (Artificial Ground): For artificial turf. More, but shorter studs. In Uzbekistan, many pitches are artificial turf โ therefore, AG is the most necessary type.
TF (Turf): For short artificial grass and hard surfaces. Many very small studs. Suitable for futsal and small pitches.
IN (Indoor): For indoor courts. Flat sole โ without studs. For futsal.
SG (Soft Ground): For wet and soft natural grass. Long, replaceable studs.
The Biggest Mistake
The most common mistake is wearing FG boots on artificial turf. FG studs grip artificial turf too aggressively. This puts excessive rotational force on the knee and increases the risk of ACL injuries. ON ARTIFICIAL TURF, ONLY AG OR TF SHOULD BE WORN.
Choosing the Size
Football boots are worn slightly tighter than regular shoes โ there should be minimal space between the foot and the boot. However, boots that are too tight are also a mistake โ toes get crushed and lead to injuries.
The best method is to try them on in the evening (when feet are slightly swollen). Try them on while wearing sports socks.

Adidas Predator: For striking and control. Wide and comfortable.
Puma Future: Flexible and comfortable. Average price.
Nike Phantom: For control and passing. Modern design.
Boot Maintenance
Boots should be wiped and dried after every game. Never dry them on a heater or in a hot place โ this ruins the material. Drying in room air circulation is sufficient.
