The first and most important technical feature of preparation is an extended warm-up stage. While 10-15 minutes may be sufficient in the warm season, at least 25-30 minutes should be allocated in winter to raise the body's temperature. Improving blood circulation and "awakening" the muscles through dynamic stretching exercises is the primary guarantee for preventing injuries.
The choice of clothing is also technically important. The "layering principle" should be applied: the first layer should be a moisture-wicking synthetic fabric, the second layer heat-retaining clothing, and the third layer clothing that protects against wind and rain. The choice of footwear should be made based on the condition of the stadium field (snowy, damp, or frozen), as slippery surfaces put extra strain on the ligaments.
The intensity and loads of training must also be adjusted. In cold weather, the respiratory system is under additional load; therefore, the body should be gradually adapted before high-intensity exercises. Additionally, special attention should be paid to maintaining water balance; it is recommended that the athlete drink warm water in small portions even if they do not feel thirsty.
Finally, after completing winter training, the "cool-down" stage is very important. The body can cool down quickly after a workout, which leads to muscle cramps. Therefore, the session should be concluded with slow walking and light stretching, followed by immediately putting on warm clothes. Adhering to these technical rules allows for safe and effective preparation at regional stadiums.
