Proper striking is a basic skill for every football player. Many players use incorrect shooting techniques for years and, as a result, miss goals.

Basic Shot (with the laces)

Supporting foot: next to the ball, in the direction of the target. Striking foot: toes pointed down, hitting the center of the ball. Body: leaned slightly forward. Arms: spread for balance. Movement: starting from the hip, delivering it to the ball through the knee.

Inside-of-the-foot Shot

The most accurate type of shot. Ideal for short passes and precise strikes. Hit the center of the ball with the widest part of the foot. The ball travels low and accurately.

Outside-of-the-foot Shot

To give the ball a curved trajectory. Frequently used in free kicks. Hit the side of the ball and turn the foot outwards.

Exercises

Hitting against a wall โ€” 100 times with the left foot, 100 times with the right foot. Aiming at a specific point. Shooting on the move โ€” while running. 20 minutes of shooting practice every day makes a big difference.

Shooting technique is the foundation, and it is never too late to strengthen that foundation.
