Teaching children football from an early age contributes greatly to their physical and mental development. However, this process must be organized correctly.
6-8 years: Learning through play
The most important thing for children of this age is to enjoy football. Training should be in the form of games. Getting acquainted with the ball, simple dribbling, short-distance passing, and small-sided games (3x3, 4x4) are the primary exercises. The duration of training should not exceed 45-60 minutes.
9-10 years: Basic technique
During this period, ball control techniques, striking with both feet, and the basics of heading are taught. Players should try out various positions. Competitive elements are introduced into training, but the process is more important than the result.
11-12 years: Tactical understanding
At this age, children begin to learn simple tactical concepts: positioning on the field, principles of attack and defense, and the basics of team play. Attention is also paid to physical preparation, but excessive loads should be avoided.
The most important thing is to teach children to love football. Strict discipline and excessive seriousness can extinguish a child's interest.
