Uzbekistan football has made great strides since 1991 β since independence. Our national team and clubs have occupied an important place in Asian football.
The Early Years
The Uzbekistan Football Federation was established in 1946, but the independent national team was formed in 1992. In 1994, a silver medal was won at the Asian Games β this was a great success for the new national team.
Major Achievements
Reaching the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup in 2011. The successes of the Olympic team in the Asian Games. The achievements of the national futsal team in the Asian championships. The participation of youth teams in Asian and world competitions β these are all sources of pride for us.
Development of the Professional League
The Uzbekistan Super League has been held since 1992. Clubs such as Pakhtakor, Bunyodkor, Nasaf, and Neftchi have also performed Π΄ΠΎΡΡΠΎΠΉΠ½ΠΎ in the AFC Champions League. Bunyodkor's achievements in the AFC Champions League between 2008-2012 deserve special mention.
