The warm-up (razminka) process carried out before any physical exercise or sport is aimed at waking up not only the muscles but also the cardiovascular system. Many consider warming up to be only physical movements, but correct breathing techniques increase the effectiveness of this process several times over. The main task of breathing during the warm-up stage is to increase the concentration of oxygen in the blood and fill cells with energy. Through correct, deep, and rhythmic breathing, we expand lung volume. This accelerates the enrichment of blood with oxygen. Oxygen-rich blood reaches the muscles faster, increasing their elasticity and reducing the risk of injury. The effect of breathing techniques on blood circulation is directly linked to heart rate. Slow and deep breathing relieves the body of stress, but by gradually increasing the speed of breathing during the warm-up process, we gently "accelerate" the heart. This increases the speed of blood movement through the vessels and strengthens blood flow to peripheral parts (arms and legs). As a result, muscles warm up and become ready for physical loads. Furthermore, through breathing exercises, we effectively remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the body. If breathing is blocked or managed incorrectly during the warm-up process, toxic substances can accumulate in the blood, leading to early fatigue and muscle tension. Correct breathing helps maintain the pH balance of the blood. In conclusion, consciously adding breathing techniques (for example, diaphragmatic breathing) to the warm-up process is not just an addition, but a necessity for the efficient functioning of the body. By controlling your breath, you optimize blood circulation, soften the load on your heart, and achieve maximum results from your workout. Remember, movement begins with breath!
