Choosing Footwear in Football: How to Pick the Right Boots

Football boots are a player's most important piece of equipment. Correctly chosen boots improve the game, while the wrong ones can lead to injury.

Depending on the Pitch Type

FG (Firm Ground) — for natural grass. Numerous short studs. The most commonly used type. AG (Artificial Ground) — specifically for artificial turf. Studs are more numerous and shorter, providing better grip. TF (Turf) — for small artificial pitches. With a rubber sole. IC (Indoor) — for indoor courts with a flat sole.

Material

Natural leather — the most comfortable, adapts to the foot, but absorbs water and is heavier. Synthetic material — lightweight, waterproof, and cheaper. Modern synthetic materials have become close to natural leather in terms of quality.

Size

Choose boots in the evening — feet swell slightly during the day. There should be a 0.5-1 cm gap between the big toe and the tip of the boot. Wear new boots in training first, not in a match.

Due to the prevalence of artificial pitches in Uzbekistan, AG type boots are the most suitable choice.
