GPS technology has become a standard tool in football training and matches. Each player wears a vest with a small GPS device attached to the shoulder. This device records the player's position, speed, and direction 10 times per second. As a result, a detailed movement map is prepared after the game ends.

Key GPS indicators: total distance covered (average 10-13 km), high-speed running (distance covered at 21+ km/h), number of sprints, accelerations, and decelerations. This data shows the coach the exact workload of each player. For example, if a central midfielder has run 20% less than usual โ€” this could be a sign of fatigue or injury.

GPS technology is being introduced in the Uzbekistan Super League. Several clubs already use Catapult or STATSports systems. In the future, all professional teams are expected to use this technology. Correctly interpreting data is becoming a new and important skill for coaches.
