Biomechanics is the science that studies human movement based on the laws of physics. In football, it is used to analyze striking techniques, running mechanics, jumping, and stopping movements. For example, in Roberto Carlos' famous banana shot, the angle at which the ball was hit, the amount of force, and which part of the foot was used were precisely calculated.
Modern biomechanics laboratories utilize 3D motion analysis systems, force platforms, and high-speed cameras. A player's running technique is analyzed to determine which muscles are under excessive load. This data is used to prevent injuries and increase efficiency.
Biomechanics is not yet widely applied in football in Uzbekistan, but work is beginning in this direction through the cooperation of JISMI (Institute of Physical Education) and the UFA. In the future, having biomechanical analysis capabilities in every academy will take Uzbekistan's football to a new level of quality.
